Air hires superstar influencer Kareem Rahma as company’s first ever Chief Imagination Officer

[New York] - Tech start-up, Air, has appointed comedian/ influencer and social media provocateur, Kareem Rahma, as the company’s first-ever Chief Imagination Officer. In this new role, Rahma will oversee the creative vision and brand for the venerable Dropbox competitor.

“I have a whiteboard in my shower, and when Shane and Tyler called to offer me the role, I immediately started brainstorming a new title: Chief Creative Officer? Boring. What I do is so much more, so when Chief Imagination Officer came to me after a few minutes of thinking, I told them I'd only take the job with this title,” said Rahma.

“I’m excited to change the world. I have been given this platform and I plan on using it to make the world a better place. The biggest visionaries in tech, creativity and film want to change the world and that’s what I plan to do here at Air.”

“Kareem is many things but he’s first and foremost a creative visionary. He sees where the puck is going and doesn’t waste time strapping on his skates,” says Air CEO and co-founder Shane Hegde. “AOL had their digital prophet, and Air is thrilled to welcome its first Chief Imagination Officer. As Chief Imagination Officer, Rahma’s first order of business is the launch of his exclusive new podcast and e-book, Creative Air. Inspired by his mentor Rick Rubin, the series explores the difficult questions when it comes to making truly lasting creative work.
