Dan Kenger made his name at Gin Lane, the New York agency with an outsize hand in defining the most iconic consumer brands of the 2010s. As Digital Creative Director from the outfit’s early days in the late 2000s through its transformation into Pattern Brands a decade later, his creative talent crystallized brands like Harry’s, Sweetgreen, and J. Crew. After just over a decade on the Gin Lane, then Pattern, path, Dan made the switch to in-house at hims & hers, a brand he’d had a significant hand in building at the agency. He’s now the telehealth icon’s SVP of Design. Shane sits down with Dan to discuss convincing brands to embrace digital-first content before it was the norm, content becoming a commodity, and fostering world-class creative talent.
