Andrew Robertson never really intended to get into advertising. He studied economics at the City of London University; it was a well-timed chance encounter with an advertising professional in a nightclub that set him on the path. He was in his final semester of university and filled with new purpose — a clever pivot on his dissertation helped him secure an entry-level job at Ogilvy & Mather, where he immediately fell in love with the industry. Andrew was appointed to his current role as CEO of BBDO Worldwide nearly 20 years ago, becoming the agency’s youngest CEO in its over 100-year history. Shane sits down with Andrew to discuss his path through the advertising world, why America is a uniquely incredible place to do business, and how to open each successive door of one’s career.
